Bath, Somerset

Our area.Our community.

A neighbourly home for residents of Lower Bloomfield Road — united in celebrating a place of quiet beauty and rare character.

Who we are

More than an area — a community

The Lower Bloomfield Residents Association exists to make our neighbourhood an even better place to call home. We're volunteer-run, warmly inclusive, and firmly convinced that good things happen when neighbours know each other.

Community Composition

At our core is a group of residents who believe passionately in the uniqueness of lower Bloomfield Road. We aim to bring together every member of our community, however far afield, to celebrate a beautifully special place.

Purpose

The LBRA is a community driven to represent all of our diverse views and interests.

Democratic Structure

The core group consists of a chair, treasurer, secretary and various community ambassadors.

Truly Inclusive

A core belief of the LBRA is true inclusivity. All are welcome, free of charge.

What we do

We're busy — in the best way

From working with the Council on road safety to hosting impromptu drinks parties, the LBRA covers a remarkable amount of ground.

Fostering Community Spirit

  • Seasonal get-togethers
  • Coffee mornings with a World Cafe focus
  • Combatting social isolation for the elderly and vulnerable
  • Community Conversations: Our neighbourhood ambassadors offer simple informal opportunities for people to connect around things that matter from SEND (e.g. EHCPs) through to financial literacy; or simply a catch up over a cuppa. These are not services or formal sessions — just people supporting people safely and respectfully.
  • Supporting residents in times of need

Community Improvement

We believe a collective voice is the route to community cohesion — from looking after our local environment, to supporting and leading local safety initiatives.

Representation and Advocacy

We believe in listening to all our residents and presenting a united voice to councils, housing associations and police. We promote grass-roots community mindedness.

Communication and Information Sharing

  • Keeping residents informed through multi-media channels: newsletters, surveys, social media, WhatsApp, world cafes
  • Holding regular meetings (both AGM and committee) to provide transparency and to receive feedback

Bloomfield Road/Wellsway TRO Update

The 'consultation' on TRO 26-006 is now closed. We are all now waiting for BANES decision. Once the decision has been announced we will reconvene and together plan next steps.

A uniquely diverse area

Lower Bloomfield Road is a truly unique blend of diverse demands — a hub of activity and diversity requiring a thoughtful, unified approach:

  • Part of the National Cycle Route 24
  • An initiative corridor for emergency services
  • A bus route serving the wider community
  • An entrance to Bloomfield Green
  • A busy route for children accessing two large schools

Membership is free

Open to all households on the streets shown. Not sure if you qualify? Get in touch — we'd love to hear from you.

Help Board

Neighbours helping neighbours

Our Help Board is where residents offer their time and skills — or ask for a friendly hand. It's one of our favourite things about this community.
